Most of my billable hours this quarter are going to a database migration for a logistics client moving from a single PostgreSQL instance to a primary plus two read replicas, ahead of a busy season that outgrew the old setup last year. It's the kind of project that's 20% technical work and 80% making sure the cutover plan has no silent assumptions in it.
Alongside that, I'm slowly migrating my own homelab's container fleet from Docker to rootless Podman, partly out of curiosity and partly because two long-term clients have asked about it and I'd rather have scar tissue before I recommend it to anyone.

It's turning out to be a better post than I expected, mostly because of how many small things went wrong on the first attempt.
Summer in Tampere means rowing most mornings before the inbox gets going, and slightly less computer time on weekends than the rest of the year. The homelab will probably go untouched for most of July except for whatever breaks on its own.
